FULL BIOGRAPHY

EARLY YEARS:

Aly's father Jeffrey, a Broadway and TV actor, was the initial influence in her love of the arts. At the age of five, she began formal training in acting, singing, and dancing and was enrolled in classes at Weist Barron Studios and Lee Strasberg Actor's Studio in NYC, for stage and on-camera work.

Aly's training landed her leading roles in school productions, most notably Lucy in the musical "Jekyll & Hyde" and as Alice in "Alice in Wonderland," followed by opportunities to perform at The NJ State Theater, The Paper Mill Playhouse. For two years, Aly attended The Paper Mill Playhouse Musical Theater Conservatory, where she received training in all aspects of Musical Theater. She was cast as leads, Nellie in "South Pacific" and Daisy Gamble in "On A Clear Day You Can See Forever" in the "New Voices" Summer Concert Series.

Aside from Acting/Performing, Aly was an athlete; playing field hockey, basketball and softball for her school teams, as well as traveling around the state of New Jersey as a Catcher and Team Captain for "All Stars." In school, she was popular among peers and served as Class President for 3 consecutive terms, was a nominee for Prom Court, "Miss Watchung Hills" and her classmates voted her as "Most Likely To Be On Broadway" for Senior Year Superlatives.

COLLEGE:

Aly attended college at Northeastern University in Boston, MA and graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors, with a dual major in Business Administration. While attending college, Aly became a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority (serving as Sisterhood and Philanthropy Chair for Elizabeth Glaser's Pediactric Aids Foundation) and just to have the opportunity to get back on a stage, she competed in Miss NJ USA, placing as a Runner-Up.

Upon graduation, Aly put her Business degree to work at leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm Goldman Sachs. While she was fast-tracked to an Associate-level in Prime Brokerage during her 4 year tenure, she couldn't ignore the calling to use her artistic side, and her love for acting and the arts beckoned.

ACTING / FILMMAKING

.... & Never Looking Back:

Aly left her job in Finance to get back to her roots of acting, studying Meisner Technique at James Franco's Acting and Film School, Studio 4 NYC. One year later, Aly booked multiple roles opposite James in his AOL Originals Series, "Making A Scene" (which later received an Emmy Nomination) and joined SAG-AFTRA.

Aly was later accepted into James Franco's "Master Class," where she learned, directly from James, the art of making a feature-length film.  This experience followed with the opportunity to work with Playwright, Director and Founder of "The Rattlestick Theater," David Van Asselt, on workshops for various original plays.

During this time, Aly was also cast in various Featured roles in blockbuster and series hits, "John Wick 2," "The Get Down," "Younger," "Vinyl," "The Night Before," and HBO's, "The Deuce."

Aly continued her on-camera training (becoming a member of NYC's Actors "One on One") in addition to working directly with Academy Award Winning Olympia Dukakis and studying stand-up and improv comedy at NYC's Upright Citizen's Brigade. This experience lead to her connection to "Saturday Night Live" where she has been a featured player in several skits, including stand-in work for the legendary show.

As a creator and storyteller, Aly used her training to write, direct and produce her first short-film, "Roaring Tides" which was an official section at Chelsea Film Festival, Long Beach International Film Festival, Fort Myers Film Festival, Hoboken International Film Festival, NYC Chain Film Festival, New Filmmakers NY Festival, and was a "Semi-Finalist" at the Latin NY Film Festival. Aly was also awarded "Best New Director 2018" by the NYC Chain Film Festival & Winner of "Female Filmmaker 2019" Award in the Best Shorts Competition.

Aly returned to Chelsea Film Festival in 2019 as Leading Actress in short-film "Full Tilt" and was awarded, "BEST ACTRESS" at the festival. CFFNY has been ranked a Top 10 International Festival by USA Today (Press Release: "STAR ON THE RISE, Aly Mang").

Post festival successes, Aly is now in-production for her second short-film, (she also wrote, directed, and is producing) "The Beginning." More on this film: HERE

Aside from her work in film, Aly is the lead model for the new NYC-based fashion line, "Hailey Lyn" for Nordstom and has done print and commercial work in various campaigns for major fashion brands: Rebecca Taylor, Jovani, Sherri Hill, Ellie Wilde, and Hilton Hotels.

From musical theater to commercials, television, modeling and film, Aly is grateful for every opportunity to do what she loves and knows she was born to do.

GIVING BACK:

When not acting, Aly focuses on humanitarian efforts and being a role model to young women. She is a Board Certified Holistic Health Coach and the Founder and Owner, of Holistic Health Coaching Business and Blog, "The Balanced Beauty LLC." The Balanced Beauty was created to help empower women to make healthy choices and follow their dreams.

She is also a proud and active supporter of "The Pink Agenda," which is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to "raising money and raising hell" for Breast Cancer Research. This is a cause very close to her heart, as she lost her Mother to the disease, at the young age of 5. Her mother's passing serves as her greatest influence to live every day to the fullest, make healthy choices and do what you can, in your own way, to make a positive difference in the world.

Aly looks back at her college and post-graduation experiences in Business as what separates her from other Actresses. While she considers herself a creative and artistic dreamer, she is professional and maintains an unstoppable work-ethic. In three words she describes herself as "confident, dynamic, and fearless."
